The DC Developmental Disabilities Council mourns the loss of Councilmember Amber Keohane. Amber served on the DDC for five years and was a fierce advocate for independent living and peer support. We will miss Amber’s kindness, humor, her intelligent perspective, and her passionate advocacy. Our hearts go out to her family and friends.

She was entirely unaware of the DC services system or if she would receive the proper PCA services upon her arrival, but she took that chance to lead her own self-determination and quality of life.
